The Story

Colombia Santa Monica Aruzi is a remarkable coffee produced by Jairo Arcila, a third-generation coffee grower from Quindio, Colombia. Jairo began his coffee journey in 1987 when he purchased his first farm, Finca La Esmeralda. Over the years, he expanded to five additional farms, including Santa Monica. His experience as a Mill Manager for over 40 years and his sons' guidance in harvesting and processing have empowered him to produce exceptional coffees that significantly benefit the local economy.

This coffee showcases the rare Bourbon Aruzi variety, discovered for its unique characteristics and resistance. After being meticulously harvested, the cherries undergo 30 hours of underwater fermentation, followed by careful washing and drying to achieve optimal moisture content. The result is a complex and vibrant cup with notes of dried citrus, pear, and brown sugar, reflecting Jairo's commitment to quality and sustainable farming practices in the heart of Armenia, Quindio.
